Drummer DAVID SILVERIA sues KORN
27 February 2015According to TMZ, founding KORN drummer David Silveria is suing his former band, claiming his 2006 departure from the group was merely a hiatus and that he was ready to return to the band in 2013 but was rebuffed.
In addition, Silveria claims he still has ownership interest in KORN, and is looking for his cut of the band’s profits since he left.
The exact nature of the lawsuit is not made clear by TMZ, but the website reports that the legal documents reveal that Silveria is upset that KORN welcomed back guitarist Brian ‘Head’ Welch but wouldn’t do the same for the stickman. Apparently, Silveria is asking a judge to find out how much money the band made since he left and then wants to dissolve his partnership with the group once he gets his proper share of the profits.
Late last year, Silveria apologized to fans for not being on KORN’s tour that celebrated the 20th anniversary of their debut album.
“To all the Korn fans around the world I want to thank you with all of my heart for all of the success,” wrote Silveria. “Without the fans Korn would just be a hobby. As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of our debut release I can’t believe it’s been 20 long years. I’m sorry to all of the fans that I couldn’t be there on tour to celebrate the anniversary but that’s just the way it goes.”
Stay tuned as more details emerge about Silveria’s lawsuit.
