Former NINE INCH NAILS rocker James Woolley has died, aged 50.

The death of the keyboard player, who was a member of Trent Reznor’s band from 1991 to 1994, was revealed on Facebook by his ex-wife Kate Van Buren, the mother of Woolley’s three children.

Please keep the Woolley family and all his loved ones in your prayers,” she wrote.

The rocker replaced Lee Mars as keyboardist in NINE INCH NAILS and played with the band on the first Lollapalooza tour. He also appeared in the videos for Wishand March Of The Pigs from the group’s acclaimed The Downward Spiral album.

He quit the band in 1994 for family reasons and was replaced by Saw soundtrack composer Charlie Clouser.

Woolley was also part of rock supergroup 2wo, which featured JUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford and guitarist John 5, and he formed his own band, VOID. He also worked on sound effects for TV comedy series The Simpsons
