DEVILDRIVER has canceled its appearance on the inaugural Megacruise after frontman Dez Fafara's wife was diagnosed with cancer.

Dez broke the news of his wife's diagnosis in a social media post earlier today. He wrote (via ThePRP): "Today my world is BLACK my wife and best friend @mrsfafara was told yesterday she has cancer. Please send positive vibes for our family while we go through this difficult time . #FuckCancer. AT THIS TIME @devildriver IS CANCELLING @themegacruise SO I can be by my wife’s side . Thank you for your understanding."

Dez's wife of 20 years, Anahstasia Fafara is involved in several business ventures with her husband, including The Oracle Management, The Oracle Merchandise Company and the SunCult clothing brand.

Megacruise, hosted by metal veterans MEGADETH, will depart from Los Angeles on October 13 on a round-trip voyage to San Diego and Ensenada, Mexico.

This past July, Dez confirmed that DEVILDRIVER had completed work on its new album with producer Steve Evetts (EVERY TIME I DIE, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN). The follow-up to 2016's "Trust No One" will be a staggered-release double album, with the first part scheduled to arrive in early 2020.

DEVILDRIVER's full-length collection of outlaw country-gone-metal anthems, "Outlaws 'Til The End", was released in July 2018 via Napalm Records.
