Machine Head and Enter Shikari were the only two bands that whon two awards each at this year's annual Kerrang! Awards. Rob Flynn & Co. scooped Best Album for "The Blackening" plus the Hard Rock Hero awards, while Enter Shikari won Best Live Act and Spirit of Independence awards.

Welsh rock band The Lostprophets have been named Best British Band for the second year in a row, with US stars My Chemical Romance securing the Best International Band award.

30 Seconds to Mars won Best Single for "The Kill", Chicago rockers Fall Out Boy triumphed in the Best Video category for "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race", fellow Chicago band Madina Lake were named Best International Newcomers, and Gallows took the Best British Newcomers trophy.

Birmingham heavy metal veterans Judas Priest won the Hall of Fame honour, Nine Inch Nails were presented with an Icon award in recognition of their long-standing career, and Deftones were honoured with the Classic Songwriter Award for "creating memorable and timeless songs".
