Hundreds took part in the cleanup of 'MOUSALA' peak, gathering 13 tonnes of construction debris!

The event, which culminated in the highest altitude concert ever held in Europe, marked the high point of TANGRA MEGA ROCK radio’s 10th anniversary celebrations.

Over 400 people climbed Rila mountain in order to participate in the cleanup of construction debris from the highest peak on the Balkan peninsula.

The promoters from TANGRA MEGA ROCK provided garbage bags and gloves for the hundreds of volunteers, who queued up early in the morning to take the lift from Borovets up to Yastrebets. To facilitate the event, the lift was open longer hours than usual.

Climbing 'MOUSALA' (2,925.4 m) can be a challenge (more than 3 h), but the fastest among the participants reached the summit a bit before lunch and started gathering bricks, tiles and other construction debris.

By the end of the cleanup, 13 tonnes of waste had been cleared! In the next couple of days, 500 garbage bags will be transported by the TANGRA MEDIA ROCK team to a waste disposal facility in the city of Samokov.

The culmination of the event, a reward for the hundreds of volunteers who responded to the call for a “clean and protected Rila”, was a concert featuring two bands closely connected to TANGRA MEGA ROCKD2 and ODD CREW

Emotions were flying high during the show, the highest altitude concert ever held in Europe, with many fans dancing to the music and some even moved to tears. The peaks of Rila mountain served as a backdrop to the truly intimate and unforgettable concert!

For those who were not able to join us on this historic day on 'MOUSALA' peak, the entire event was captured on film and the footage will be featured in an upcoming film about the 10-year-long legacy of TANGRA radio.

The TANGRA MEGA ROCK team wishes to thank all our friends and collaborators, without whom none of this would have been possible!
