Producer's corpse to be mutilated by models as per his dying wish
23 January 2015Prolific music producer Kim Fowley, who worked with KISS, Alice Cooper and more, died at the age of 75 on Saturday. His funeral plans? To have his body abused and mutilated by fetish models for the centrefold of a magazine.
The magazine in question is Girls and Corpses (honestly a real magazine), which features pictures of scantily clad women posing with real dead bodies, recreating paintings such as Grant Wood's American Gothic (below).
Prior to his death from cancer, Kim sent a letter to the magazine's publisher, detailing the very metal way he wanted to be put to rest.
"Snow [his girlfriend] and her fetish friends, could mutilate the body, providing real blood & guts and set my bones and blood on fire," he said, according to TMZ.
Girls & Corpses passed on all the blood burning, but did agree to shoot his body surrounded by girls for its front cover. The only problem is that Kim had since moved on to a new girlfriend who now has control of what happens to the body, and the publishers can't find her.
As absurd funerals go, this beats even that of Hunter S. Thompson, whose ashes were fired from a cannon.
Fowley was behind hundreds of rock songs in the 70s and 80s, worked with Warren Zevon and is famed for bringing The Runaways to prominence.
