Grab a cup of black coffee and save room for some cherry pie, DAVID LYNCH is officially coming back to Twin Peaks — again. A month and a half following his alleged departure, the famed auteur and Showtime have finally come to an agreement over salary and budgeting, leading to the show’s retur in 2016.

True to form, Lynch announced the news today on his Twitter account, writing: “Dear Twitter Friends, the rumors are not what they seem ….. It is !!! Happening again. #TwinPeaks returns on @SHO_Network.” What’s more, the network has agreed to produce more than the nine episodes they originally ordered.

This damn fine cup of coffee from Mark and David tastes more delicious than ever,” Showtime president David Nevins said in a statement Friday. “Totally worth the extra brewing time and the cup is even bigger than we expected. David will direct the whole thing which will total more than the originally announced nine hours. Preproduction starts now!!”

The news should be quite a relief for diehard fans, who have been locked inside the Black Lodge for the past six weeks, desperately waiting for Lynch’s return. They weren’t alone, as various cast members also came forward to lament his departure, tossing in their two cents with the popular #SaveTwinPeaks campaign. We’d like to think it helped.

As Special Agent Dale Cooper once said, “Harry, I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don’t plan it. Don’t wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men’s store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee.”

Consider this your gift, folks.
