Over the years, Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor and director David Fincher have grown to become something of a dynamic duo in terms of film scores.

Among their successful collaborations: The Social Network, which won Best Original Score at the 2010 Academy Awards; The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, which garnered a 2011 Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Score; and most recently, 2014’s Gone Girl, whose excellent score snagged both a Grammy and Golden Globe nod.

Now, it looks as though they’ll be teaming up once again — this time for a slightly different kind of project. Reznor will be helping to bring Fincher’s Fight Club to the bright lights of Broadway.

According to a tweet by Jeff Goldsmith of “The Q&A with Jeff Goldsmith”, Reznor’s involvement in the musical rock opera adaptation was initially alluded to by Fight Club author Chuck Palahniuk. During a Fight Club panel at this past weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con, Palahniuk himself confirmed the news.

The adaption has been in the works since last year. Julie Taymor, renowned theater director at the helm of box office hits like The Lion King and Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, is reportedly attached to the musical as well.
