Back on February 1 it was reported that RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS frontman Anthony Kiedis said the veteran band was "in the home stretch" of finishing their 11th album. The group had been working with producer Danger Mouse in the studio. Now, it looks like they have brought in another big name as well: Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich.

On Monday, RHCP drummer Chad Smith posted a photo of himself with Godrich on Twitter with the caption: "Started Mixing the new record today! @nigelgod at the helm."

The pairing is not entirely shocking, considering that RHCP bassist Flea played with Godrich in the band Atoms For Peace.

Meanwhile, as the mixing gets underway, the Chilis have a slate of tour dates on the books this spring and summer, beginning with the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on April 24. The band will also headline Ohio's Rock On the Range and California's BottleRock in May, followed by a slew of European and Canadian festivals this summer.
