Reunited Madchester legends Happy Mondays (the term Madchester describes the alternative music scene that developed in Manchester at the end of the 80's) have signed a deal with Sanctuary Records to release a brand new studio album. The band now features original members Shaun Ryder (vocals), Gary Whelan (drums) and dancer Bez (percussion).

The CD (working title - "Freaky Funky Fish & Chips") was produced by Sunny Levine and Howie B. The latter one, together with Bjork, have performed the mixing duties on the follow-up to 1992's "Yes Please!".

After Happy Mondays split 15 years ago, Shaun Ryder worked with Black Grape and Gorillaz, while Bez, who was also involved in Black Grape, won England's Celebrity Big Brother in 2005.
