SMASHING PUMPKINS To Offer Free Tracks
18 September 2009The Smashing Pumpkins are currently working on a 44-track album – and they’re going to give all the songs away for free.
To be titled 'Teargarden By Kaleidyscope', the band plan to release one song at a time – and give them all away for nothing. However, there will also be 11 limited-edition four-track EPs for sale, and eventually a deluxe box set with all 44 songs.
Says mainman Billy Corgan: “The story of the album is based on The Fool’s Journey, as signified in the progress of the Tarot. It is my intention to approach this by breaking down the journey of our life here into four phases as made by these different characters; the Child, the Fool, the Skeptic, and the Mystic.”
