Eddie Vedder has reportedly several original songs for the movie "Into the Wild". Pearl Jam's frontman will also have a small role in the film, which stars actor Emile Hirsch. This will be Vedder's first acting role since 1992's "Singles".

"Into the Wild" is directed by Sean Penn and features contributions from Academy Award-winning composer Gustavo Santaolla (Babel). It is due to be released in the US on September 21.
